We are pleased to inform you about the achievements and upcoming developments of our project (RioSierra)'s dry mill, De La Sierra Trilladora, located in Santa Marta, Magdalena Department, Colombia. This facility, conveniently situated near the Port of Santa Marta, reflects our dedication to quality coffee processing.
About De La Sierra Trilladora
De La Sierra Trilladora is equipped with cutting-edge machinery from CIMBRIA, ensuring the highest quality standards. Our advanced processing capacity includes the ability to handle 52 bags of 70 kg per hour for excelso and 9 bags of 70 kg per hour for microlots, honey, and natural coffee. With our focus on quality preservation, we've incorporated state-of-the-art technologies such as the Polisher HAMSA M14 and optical selectors like the SEA TRUER and SEA CHROMEX models.
The current milling capacity stands at 3.7 tons per hour.
Achievements in 2023
In 2023, the mill as achieved significant milestones, including:
Opening for the provision of threshing services
Registration with the national federation of coffee growers
Mechanical assembly of the plant
RETIE certification
Implementation of a filter system for handling particulate material
Processing of the first threshing order for export
Attainment of certifications and organic standard resolutions for the NOP, EOS, and JAS plant
Expectations for 2024
Looking ahead to 2024, De La Sierra Trilladora anticipate and strive for:
Adjustment of mechanical processes for enhanced efficiency
Expansion of services in the quality area, including analysis, formations, and profiling
Commercialization of coffee at the national level
Registration as an exporter
Beginning of reception of coffee from RioSierra with a capital line of collection
In the past two months, RioSierra's coffee dry mill has successfully collected around 450,000 kilograms of parchment coffee, demonstrating a significant increase in productivity. Additionally, the team has tirelessly threshed and processed approximately 3000 bags of coffee to date, showcasing their commitment to efficient processing methods. RioSierra aims for national recognition as the foremost thresher of specialty coffees, distinguished by its advanced technology in bean selection, hoping to set a new standard in the industry.
