Peru’s 2026 coffee campaign is progressing within a challenging market environment. International demand remains strong, with Peruvian coffee currently reaching 52 markets, including the United States, Germany, and Belgium as key destinations.
This continued demand, combined with limited physical availability at origin, is creating significant pressure in the domestic market and increasing competition among buyers.

Harvest Progress by Region
Harvest progress continues at different rates across Peru’s main producing regions:
San Martín: approximately 70% complete
Amazonas: approximately 45% complete
Cajamarca: approximately 40% complete
Cusco: approximately 30% complete
Junín: approximately 30% complete
Recent field assessments by the Ecotierra Group technical team indicate that the expected crop reduction is now closer to 40%, compared with the initial market expectation of a 10–20% decrease.
Limited Availability and Rising Differentials
The local market remains highly competitive, with limited parchment availability and strong purchasing activity from exporters and local organizations securing volumes.
Conventional coffee differentials have continued increasing throughout the campaign. Between May and July, EXW differentials rose from approximately NY C +18 to around NY C +35, driven by tighter supply, strong competition at origin, and producers’ expectations of further price improvements.
This situation creates additional uncertainty for shipments scheduled from September onward, making early planning and confirmation of availability increasingly important.

Quality Focus and Stocklot Availability
Café Selva Norte is currently taking a cautious approach to stocklot offers for international buyers.
The raw materials traditionally used for these preparations are being prioritized by many organizations to complete Grade 1 and Grade 2 shipments. This approach helps optimize available volumes but can increase quality risks when coffee is not carefully controlled.
In this context, CSN is prioritizing consistency, quality control, and contractual compliance.
Certified Coffee Availability
Certified coffee availability remains selective within the Peruvian market.
Currently, FTO coffee is available mainly for North America, Canada, and Australia, while availability for the European market remains more limited.
The market is also experiencing shortages of specific certified programs, particularly Rainforest Alliance and Organic coffees for Europe, due to reduced supply, strong local demand, and increased competition for certified lots.
For international buyers, securing specific certifications and quality profiles requires early planning and confirmation of availability.
Current Coffee Availability
Current export opportunities are mainly focused on:
Conventional Grade 1 coffees for international markets
Certified coffees according to available programs and destination requirements

What Buyers Should Consider
For the remainder of the 2026 campaign, buyers should consider:
Regional differences in harvest progress
Reduced coffee availability compared with initial expectations
Higher internal prices and differentials
Limited availability of specific certified coffees
The importance of confirming quality, certification, and shipment windows in advance
Café Selva Norte and ElevaFinca will continue monitoring harvest progress, market conditions, differentials, and coffee availability to provide buyers with reliable information and support informed purchasing decisions.
