At ElevaFinca, the journey from farm to container is built on strong partnerships, consistent communication, and logistics managed with care. This month, we are pleased to introduce Juan Rimaycuna Balcázar, Export Logistics Coordinator based in Peru, who plays a key role in coordinating coffee shipments from Peru, Colombia, and Honduras.

Building a Career in Global Coffee Logistics

Juan joined ElevaFinca one year ago, driven by the opportunity to apply his training in international business within a company that blends commercial precision with social and environmental impact.

“From the beginning, I saw ElevaFinca as a place where I could grow. The global nature of Ecotierra’s ecosystem and its real-world impact across several countries inspired me to get involved.”

Since then, Juan has led several key logistical initiatives, including managing the first-ever exports from our Kuska project in Peru and visiting operations in Honduras to strengthen coordination between field and shipment teams.

A Typical Day: Coordination and Connection

Juan’s role spans daily coordination across three origins, ensuring smooth execution of all export activities. A typical day includes:

  • Reviewing and responding to client, supplier, and freight partner communications

  • Monitoring shipment timelines and documentation

  • Collaborating with producers and field teams to maintain traceability and schedule fulfillment

“Each morning starts with clear priorities and a strong coffee. Sharing a cup with the team reminds us that what we’re moving is more than product — it’s people’s work, pride and livelihoods.”

Connecting Producers and Buyers Across Borders

Juan describes his role as a strategic bridge between origin and market. His focus is on ensuring that both producers and buyers experience ElevaFinca as a reliable, transparent and value-driven partner.

A Team Culture of Commitment and Growth

For Juan, what stands out most is the team culture behind the logistics.

“Even under pressure, we support each other. Everyone brings commitment and collaboration. That’s what makes growth possible — both as individuals and as an organization.”

What Clients Should Know

“Behind every container is a series of decisions, follow-ups and contingency plans. There are always challenges, but we are prepared and committed to delivering quality, on time, with full transparency.”

He emphasizes that ElevaFinca’s approach to logistics is not just operational, but also relational — centered on long-term trust.

Peruvian Landscape

Grounded in Purpose

What motivates Juan daily is knowing that each export benefits hundreds of smallholder producers. Coming from a coffee-growing family himself, the mission is personal.

“Every container I manage is a way to connect the effort in the field with people around the world. That’s what drives me.”

If You Visited Origin

If Juan had the chance to host a partner or buyer in Peru, his first stop would be the farms.

“That’s where everything begins. Seeing the passion behind each harvest is what helps buyers truly understand the value of our coffee.”

His Favorite Coffee Ritual

“Coffee has always been part of my life. I enjoy each cup with gratitude, knowing that I work to share the best of Peruvian coffee with the world.”
